15 year conforming mortgage rates are also slightly higher today averaging 3.38%, an increase from yesterday's average 15 year mortgage rate of 3.37%. There has been a trend in recent years of homeowners refinancing to 15 year mortgages from 30 year mortgages since rates are so low. Refinancing to a shorter term mortgage will save tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the loan.
Jumbo mortgage rates are mixed today, 30 year jumbo mortgage rates today are actually lower at 4.4% down from yesterday's average 30 year jumbo mortgage rate of 4.51% 15 year jumbo mortgage rates are higher today averaging 3.80%, up from yesterday's average 15 year jumbo mortgage rate of 3.78%.
