Mortgage Rates Today August 20, 2011: Mortgage Rates Continue to Decline

Today's mortgage rates continue to decline making new record lows as equity markets decline and bond yields hit record lows. Mortgage rates today on 30 year mortgages are averaging 4.23%, a decline from an average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.25% on Thursday.

Mortgage rates currently on 15 year mortgage loans are at 3.45%, a decline from Thursday's average 15 year mortgage rate of 3.47%. 15 year mortgage rates hit new record lows earlier this week when rates crashed through 3.50%.

Jumbo mortgage rates on 30 year jumbo mortgage loans are averaging 4.59%, a decline from an average 30 year jumbo mortgage interest rate of 4.63%. 

Current jumbo mortgage rates today on 15 year jumbo mortgage loans are averaging 3.87%, down from an average 15 year jumbo loan rate of 3.94%.

Adjustable mortgage rates were mixed today, conforming 5 year adjustable mortgage rates are higher and 4 year adjustable jumbo mortgage rates aer lower.

5 year conforming adjustable mortgage rates currently are averaging 3.05%, a slight increase from an average 5 year adjustable conventional rate of 3.03%.

Today's jumbo adjustable mortgage rates on 5 year jumbo adjustable mortgages are averaging 3.21%, down from an average 5 year jumbo rate of 3.24% yesterday.
