CD Rates from Nationwide Bank
CD RATES: Nationwide Bank, the banking division of the insurance company Nationwide, is offering some of the best CD rates available right now. Probably the best CD rate deal Nationwide Bank is offering right now is on the bank's 12 month certificate of deposit.
12 month bank CD rates are offered at 1.04% with bank CD yields at 1.05%. Jumbo certificates of deposit with balances of $100,000 or more have even higher CD rates. 12 month jumbo CD rates are at 1.09% with a yield of 1.10%.
Nationwide Bank's savings account rates are not as competitive right now, the bank is only offering a savings account rate and yield of 0.50%. Money market account rates are higher at 1.00%.
Shorter term CD rates at Nationwide Bank also are very competitive but you can find CD rates higher than Nationwide's rates. For example, current 3 month CD interest rates and yields at Nationwide are at 0.40% but 3 month CD rates at Ally Bank are higher at 0.44%.
Granted jumbo 3 month rates at Nationwide are at 0.45%, higher than Ally's rates but if you don't have a hundred grand to invest you won't get that rate and yield.
Here is list of Nationwide Bank CD Yields as of September 12, 2011.
