California First National Bank (CalFirst) recently lowered their 2 year certificate of deposit rates. Even though the bank lowered their 2 year rate, it is still higher than most 2 year CD rates available. The CD rate was lowered 5 basis points to 1.24 percent with an APY of 1.25 percent.

If you haven't checked on CD rates the past half dozen years 1.25 percent might seem low. To give you an idea how good the rate is, the FDIC's current 2 year national average CD rate is much lower at 0.34 percent. Listed below are all of CalFirst's CD rates.
