5 Star Bank, based in New York, has increased CD rates on all of the bank's short term and intermediate term certificates of deposit. 1 year CD rates on 5 Star Bank's regular, jumbo, and IRA CDs were all increased to 1.09 percent with an APY of 1.10 percent.

5 Star Bank has been in business in one form or another since the 1850's when Wolcott Humphrey founded a small community institution named the Wyoming County Bank. 5 Star Bank has $3.0 billion in assets and has 50 branches in 16 contiguous counties in Western and Central New York.
